Do you prefer staying single or being in a relationship?

Both have their own benefits. I've been trying to figure out if I'd rather stay single, or if I should try looking for a relationship. I don't want to give up my freedom but at the same time I really want someone special...I don't know what to do!
I like the Freedom I have. I like doing what I want when I want. I like the privacy and I love the space. I also like a mate who understands me. Who likes to cuddle, who likes intimacy. I don't like giving him my side of the bed, but when he is not here, I reclaim my side. It is easier for me to climb in and out then for him. I don't like repeating myself. I do like that he listens. It all depends on what you want. At your age, you can date and have female friends without drama. And sex? Do you really need it regularly at your age? You can pleasure yourself. You have lots of choices. Choose wisely. Ooops, forgot to add this: I have found that when you are working on yourself, improving, etc., that is when the people you like will be attracted to you. Consider that!

Nice answer. It's harder for me to find someone to date, being a gay guy who doesn't like using dating apps, and yes, I can pleasure myself without the need for sex. I've been sex-crazed for a while but I'm ready for an actual, more emotionally intimate relationship, but at the same time I want to be single and get to look and flirt with whoever I want because that's my nature...it's so frustrating, wanting to be free but at the same time being so lonely!
@TheDarkestZero: The ex was gay, hon. So I hear you. I started over after divorcing him 3.5 years ago. So I hear you on that too. Life is awesome and there are so many choices. Good luck to you. And remember to practise safe sex always.

Being entwined in a relationship overwhelms me, having to track another person in my mind. But then being single, the loneliness can be overwhelming sometimes. I doubt I could handle a relationship right now. I see people together and they're so happy, but I just can't understand it. I always feel like I am in a physics class or some other class I hate when I am in a relationship with someone. The whole scenario felt foreign to me the three times I've been in relationships.

I was married for 50 years to a girl I met when we were 15. I've been living alone for 4 years now and although I've been involved with several women I don't want to be in a serious living together relationship

I like periods of both... a couple .. up to three FWB... then I eventually promote one to GF status... sometimes it's a competition... the last one really set a high bar... I had to have her.
