I know it's hard, ppl seem to hold on to their high school friends a lot and totally closed to new ones right.. it sucks. Hope you find anytime soon. Make small dinner parties for your colleagues at your home, that helps a lot to break the ice

Go for Canon. I have Canon, I love it. Make sure it can shoot a full moon ;)

I got tebel t3i, nice one.. I dont know 80d. Full moon means a tripod, high zoom and a high sensor. Those can make you go a long way ;)
