World's gone mad i tells ya !

The ongoing saga of 'bobble's roof repair 😆

SO. Having taken advice (from just about everywhere) I placed the 'job' on several (alleged) trade websites.
Not knowing for certain whether what i need could be supplied by a 'Handyman' (now there's a job title ! Because it implies 'jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none) or a 'Builder' because the thing is structural)

Six companies responded......nearest one to me, 109 miles away !
One 'company' in Leeds (155 miles away) gave me three different quotes in three different weeks without ever having contacted me !

I have an awful feeling i'm going to have to do this myself. And i'm about as 'handy' as a one legged man in an @r$£ kicking contest !

Seriously though, ask around your local area for good builders. Word of mouth is way better than those sites cos good builders don't need to go on them. They get all their work direct.

@FairyGirlGemma Thing is a lot of what were local builders near me all either retired or went bust at the beginning of the year. And the longer this 'Lockdown' thing went on they just went on to other things or pulled the plug on their business.

@Picklebobble2 Yeah it's a real pain, my dad's been trying to get someone to fit a garage door and it's tricky.
