Is it weird to like a step parent better than your actual parent?

I prefer my stepdad over my actual dad. My stepdad is what my actual dad could be if he actually smiled and wasn't so damn serious all the time. They're both busy well to do men but their approach to life is very different.

No, it's not weird. Some parents are simply bad parents, or at least not as good at it as others. The notion that you "ought to" like your biological parents better is ridiculous.
