All my life I made my living with my hands. I bought the best tools and they gave me great service. Now I am retired. We bought a RV and I need to put a tool kit together for it. Do I stay with high end tools or buy the cheap stuff and save money. I can't make up my mind.

If you just need tools for running repairs then you're not going to need a lot. If you can afford it, Go with quality. You can then be confident you wont have to replace cheap stuff later on.

Congratulations on your retirement. I hope you put many awesome, trouble free miles on the RV.

Always buy good. The cheap ones always break when you need them. Of course they don't break when you aren't using them.

Never buy cheap tools. They're almost always a ripoff.

Quality tools are for life, cheap tools can be dangerous and nasty

If you're serious about your skill stay with high end tools, if you can afford them.. Low cost tools will never quite do the job as well.

@Stereoguy Try not to go cheap... Keep your eyes out for sales on good quality tools though. Enjoy your retirement..!

Today all the major brands are in your Walmart's, Lowes and Home Depot's so I would say save money and by the midgrade to cheap tools

Go cheap. Any major repair is going to be in a garage anyway.
