a question about incels.

Why incels hate women? I stumbled upon on an incel forum recently, and was shocked seeing the amount of misogynism. who even made a movement like this?

I mean I'm a virgin. But I don't hate women. I'm not an asshole about being a virgin either.

@IWasCallingYaLarry being a virgin is not bad. I think this belief that being a virgin makes you a loser, failure might have made the foundation to start this movement.

@Swede I don't disagree with you there. And I have felt like a loser for a while because of it and also because of never having a girlfriend. Because I never will.

@IWasCallingYaLarry The term “incel” was coined by a woman – known only as Alana – in the 1990s, when she created a website to discuss her sexual inactivity. She hoped that Alana’s Involuntary Celibate Project would become a resource for others like her – supposedly involuntarily celibate people who needed guidance and support. Of course, the incel scene has moved on radically since then, and Alana has distanced herself from its current incarnation – one that is dominated by men who feel entitled to sex, and resent women for not giving it to them.

Though very much in the minority, you do find femcels in small numbers on most incel forums – but, unsurprisingly, they struggle to have their motivations and problems heard in these spaces. In the rules section of the now-banned subreddit r/Incels, an admin had laid out the opinion of femcels held by the 40,000-person community: “Those who continuously claim there are as many female incels in the same situation as male incels will receive a warning and then a ban.”

It didn't start out quite as dark as it is now. Actually pretty sad, she had a good thing going on it sounds like and then men who hate women came along and ruined it.

@IWasCallingYaLarry having a girlfriend/boyfriend is not hard. just be yourself, but still be nice, decent, polite and do something productive in your life, find friends in opposite gender, then you will find your partner. women don't like total losers who have no goal in their life.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@Swede I mean I did do all those things you listed and I even started losing weight and dieting and working out. But no matter what, girls just don't like me. It's always been like this my entire life. I'm honestly convinced that I'm cursed.

@IWasCallingYaLarry then try online. if you have a good job, and an income you can always find a woman from eastern europe or south east asia. I have seen a lot of european men had married to thai, filipino girls.

@Swede It depends really becauae I don't trust online dating apps in general. Tinder doesn't work and neither does match.com. Idk which ones are legit.
Swede · 26-30, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry like I said first find friends, then when you two are close you can find the love. I suggest you to join with some penpal, friends finding websites. make your profile good, upload some of your good looking pictures, then find friends, talk with them, get to know them better, then see where it leads. tinder like apps don't work because they are not for serious relationships. a serious relationship can be made only through a serious friendship.

@Swede I mean I currently like somebody and have her number. And we've known each other for a while now. Her family already knows me too.
Swede · 26-30, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry Some people might suggest you to ask her out straightly, but I think it's not a wise move as if she didn't like, it might affect your friendship with her. so the best way is to test it out. like make some jokes, hint her indirectly, ask what kind of a boyfriend she likes and see whether she shows any interest in you or if she has any feelings for you. If she exhibits anything like that then go ahead and ask her out, if not you can continue your friendship as usual.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@Swede I've been working at it for a bit lately. I got her number and we always make each other laugh and are nice to each other.
Swede · 26-30, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry the hardest part is not getting into a relationship, but maintain it for a very long time.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@Swede I will. And also I know she's single.
