Why do so many people drink cow milk?

You're not of the cow species; nor a calf. Why is it so normalized in America? Who made it oh fucking kay to start drinking milk of a cow? In that case we can drink milk lactation of a dog and other animal species for that matter. Just sick.
Would you feel better if we just killed the cow and ate it?

@jetpack Look! that's off topic. I'm talking about how people actually drink it knowing it comes from a lactating cow mother.. just cause you might drink it, don't feel salty over my question, it's never too late to stop. Yes so many people eat cow meat and in my opinion it is morally wrong, however; it's also very normalized being that its been introduced in the diet of people globally for so long.. so no that would not make me feel better.
Humans have been consuming animal milk for thousands of years. Goats were first to be domesticated. That's fine that you don't like it. Some people dont. Many more people do like milk and the other products made from it.

This makes me think about how cows are probably the largest domestic mammal humans have so are ideal for milk producers. Camelids (camels, llama, alpaca) and goats are also good sources of milk used in the world where cows aren't really feasible. There are larger mammals but they lack the traits of an organism that can be domesticated easily if at all. Elephants for example are difficult to breed, feed and, lead.

Anyway I am trying to say that milk from cows has probably helped humans a lot. When we started learning to cook and farm our jaws shrank and our brains grew.

Oh and dogs would not produce enough milk to be useful. We could milk any lactating mammal and harvest the milk.

Where we gonna find enough women willing to be subjected to growth hormone injections and forced pregnancy to make enough people milk to supply a nation?

Cows seem alot more feasible to me.

Milk it does a body good ,ever see a dairy cow that hasn't been milked for about a week?
People do consume the milk of other animals.

Goats.
Sheep.
Buffalo.

I can get cheeses of those at the grocery.

In other parts of the world: horses, yaks, reindeer, camel.
Its not just milk, the whole cow gets eaten too... And chickens, pigs, lambs....
shug98 · 26-30, F
@MushroomFaerie yes but that's not what I'm addressing right now. Save that for another day.
@shug98 mkay but its kind of wrapped in the whole bag man.... It takes up more space in that bag by far also so that makes it make no sense that you won't address the bigger picture of your own 'point'
shug98 · 26-30, F
NO.
It IS sick. We're not built to consume dairy. The reason we drink milk, is because there's a industry which brings it to us in exchange for money. Period.

something for those of you against milk to ponder on...

were it not for milk, you probably wouldn't be here to complain about it, as your ancestors would've died off...
[c=#359E00]if you widen your views you'll know that people also drink milk from lamb, camel, buffalo, yak, horse[/c]
shug98 · 26-30, F
@YukikoAmagi Oh why thank you so much for the information
@shug98 [c=#359E00]it's okay to drink those animals milk. And for your info my kids are also drink my breastmilk, just like many others kids in my country. So if you widen your views again you'll know that there are still many woman breastfeeding their kids[/c]

[c=#359E00]note : i'm not american[/c]
shug98 · 26-30, F
@YukikoAmagi did I ever say anything about women not feeding their babies breast milk? But if you wanna feel important and speak more bullshit, touchè!
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
There are probably just as many people drinking, sheep, goat, camel, horse, yak, reindeer, buffalo milk. Js.
shug98 · 26-30, F
@KiwiBird True.. but why? They're animals.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
Technically if you drink cow milk, you're drinking cow semen. Change my mind.
Spica · 31-35, F
It's a historical thing. Ancient ancestors did it
shug98 · 26-30, F
@Spica An actual first answer. Thanks; however I'm sure in the ancient days though, the cows weren't filled with cancer and tumors and other chemicals from the pasteurization process like what's going on today.. Some of this cow breaded milk is probably one of the contributors to cancer cells and other harmful bodily cells that humans are being inflicted with
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@shug98
filled with cancer and tumors and other chemicals from the pasteurization process
Well... it's pretty obvious you know absolutely nothing dairy farming...

you don't pasteurize the entire cow... lmao 🤣

@MarmeeMarch I use almond milk in cereal. It works just fine, and it's so much better for you.
