One of my pins in my toes is facing down after a stumble 馃槦

I had a stumble earlier but just noticed a pin has fully rotated and facing downwards. Most painful experience ever!! Do I try very carefully make the tip of the pin face upwards?

The metal is pointing out so they can be pulled out again 馃檲馃檲 after having toes straightened. Did ring the hospital but they just said if it falls out it falls out! No mention of rotating the pin back so I can actually walk safely 馃し.

No I'm not sharing a picture it's too gross ATM 馃槀

No, do not rotate it because you run the risk of separating the bones when you do. Bones knit to the pins when you are healing and if it rotated and came up then the bone can't be grown into it. I would make an appointment soon with the orthopedic to have him make sure everything is okay. I have pins in my hip, my knee, my wrist, fingers, and hand. Only one time has a pin came out and they had to rebuild that finger because of it.

@Fungirlmmm yeah that's my worry too! The pins are a bit lose because of the infection I have. The hospital helpline wasn't very helpful 馃槀 . They genuinely said if they move they move. If it comes out it comes out etc but never said what to do about the moved pin . Looks like a long bit of wire bent at the top 馃し
