On a scale of 1 to 10 how embarassed would you be?

Okay I'm down to the fabric on the bottom of my work shoes in several spots on both shoes. One of them has a big hole in the bottom. Water is always getting inside ruining my socks. Anyway I put duck tape on the bottoms every morning. Usually slides off after a while nobody notices.well someone noticed and asked what it was. I said oh I must have stepped on tape and tore it off. Dont think they believed me because we dont have duck tape anywhere in the store
