No, they actually visit you at home and remove your face with a cheese-grater!! But you make a valid point, Anne. There is a strong likelihood that your data remains on the servers; the same as it does on facebook.

No one knows for sure what SW will do, or can do to protect the identity of members who choose to submit "Verification" photos.

How exactly will these pix be kept secure?

What risks are SW admins aware of?

Will members be notified if their photos are hacked or stolen?

What steps should members take if they know or suspect that their "verification" photos are being misused, and other personal info is compromised?

Members who care deeply about appearing "genuine" to random people they interact with on here don't seem to care enough to ask - And the admins aren't saying.

The simple answer, Anne, is that those who sustain data bases have the option to delete but they choose the option 'to hide'. The reason is because if the option to delete is used it can forcea re-index of the system which can render the site completely inoperable for a considerable length of time. The 'hide' option just removes data from the searches.
