The 23,000 year cycle part is speculation at this point, hasn't been confirmed, the team drilling marine samples only got as far back as 25,000 years ago. But yeah, the Sahara was pretty wet 6,000 to 12,000 years ago.

It's true. Wobble also cause symptoms that they call " global warming" now. It's normal.

@MichaelJT not all of them, some predict when the earth warms up it will get wetter and more humid, deserts will in actual fact become jungles, the coast lines will change quite dramatically, due to rising sea levels but more (now frozen) arable land will become available. Life will have to adapt or move. Don't worry it won't happen over night.
