If someone came to make amends and come to forgive you for stuff done in the past, and you also want forgive them for words

Said (Like they've stuck to you in a way, resonated within you in the past and they played it off as them saying those things as not a big deal...) do you forgive them, to make amends with them and see them as a different or changed person, or can you not come to forgive them because the wieght of what they said over what you said back then (The insults, the downgrading, the anger-fueled overboard shaming/degrading words.) In other words are you a forgiving person? And would you forgive this person and just want to forgive some of those the wrongs and have less vendettas or just past anger/striff/problems or would you not forgive them and just live life past all that stuff? (Btw a real while has passed so yeah)

I wouldn't.
When someone shows you who they truly are, you should believe them the first time.
I don't need people like that.
And they're probably apologising to make themselves feel better, not for any other reason.

I'm all for second chances.. but only second chance. I like to leave everything in the past.. and that also means them.

@SpaceCreature But what if during the interaction the feelings of all that hit you in the face the moment your talking to them, and you just kinda remember how hurtful the stuff they said was, and you kinda do want to forgive them and be friends but at the same time you can't, is it a sign that you should just not be their friend and just move on beyond all of it?
