When is someone typically considered an alcoholic?

This is AA’s self-test. Four or more yeses means you’re probably in trouble with alcohol.

1. Have you ever decided to stop drinking for a week or so, but only lasted for a couple of days?
2. Do you wish people would mind their own business about your drinking-- stop telling you what to do?
3. Have you ever switched from one kind of drink to another in the hope that this would keep you from getting drunk?
4. Have you had to have an eye-opener upon awakening during the past year?
5. Do you envy people who can drink without getting into trouble?
6. Have you had problems connected with drinking during the past year?
7. Has your drinking caused trouble at home?
8. Do you ever try to get "extra" drinks at a party because you do not get enough?
9. Do you tell yourself you can stop drinking any time you want to, even though you keep getting drunk when you don't mean to?
10. Have you missed days of work or school because of drinking?
11. Do you have "blackouts"?
12. Have you ever felt that your life would be better if you did not drink?
@SW-User I understand. Self-awareness is a good defense.

@Mamapolo2016 I don't want to be those people who can't be sober for a day
@SW-User That’s not what alcoholic means, actually, especially in the beginning. A person may drink a few times a year, but when they do, the alcohol controls them instead of the other way ‘round. For an alcoholic, there is rarely such a thing as ‘one drink.’ They may manage that at dinner with the boss, or a first date, but the pattern usually establishes itself. More drinking, more often.

I'd say if you drink to get a buzz on an almost daily basis you are definately alcoholic

When it's interfering with their life, health, job, happiness etc
1) when you change bars so frequently that you develop a fear of becoming noticed and recognized by everyone

2) you just drink every single day in your room even when you're happy or unhappy or extremely depressed

When you have to drink every night after work. I did. Not anymore though.6 a night is too much.Sometimes I'd drink more.
When they're always drinking and the rare times they aren't they're thinking about drinking.
