How do you ask permission to go see a friend when it requires driving on the interstate to do so and your parents do not allow you to drive on it?

@aaatheaaa yes, of course. At what age do you find that I might be allowed to make decisions for myself? How much longer should I wait?

Just get some county maps and create a travel route that avoids the Interstate.

@antisocialbutterfly If the Interstate is really what they object to, then a carefully planned route avoiding the Interstate should do it. If they are basically only trying to control your every move and keep you from reaching out socially beyond their influence...then they'll only find another objection. And if that is true, you need to find a way to move put on your own very soon. If you can't do that now due to an educational program, maybe you could find another relative to live with...?

My family isn't really very close with the rest of my family

@antisocialbutterfly If they are keeping you from living your life as an adult, find a way to move out. Live with a friend, revive the friendship with one of those alienated relatives, find someone old who needs a person to live in their house and be there at night, look into a job or find a way to make a down payment on a camper or van.

Why can't you drive on highway? Got a license?
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
