No, my son wanted to do everything himself. He'd go limp and have a tantrum if I'd carried him.

No. Kids need to learn how to safely maneuver on stairs. That takes practicing while young.

@swandfriends Yeah. Kids fall. Kids get bruises and scrapes. They get less injured the younger they are. You can't keep them in a bubble their whole lives so you teach them how to navigate the world.

I just think it's mean, I hate seeing it. At home it's fine, but if you're in a hurry in public and your telling your little 2 year old to hurry up while he's struggling to make it up the steps, I see it as the parent being lazy

@swandfriends Rushing a kid and letting a kid climb stairs are two different things. When my kids were a tad younger I used to rush them a lot. I wish I never had to. There's only so many hours in a day and we're often stretching it.

Depends on the circumstance. Main reason I say that is my kids would fight and have a tantrum sometimes if we didn't let them climb by themselves

Nope. How on Earth are kids supposed to learn things without trying them?
Blooo · 26-30, M

Nah. I worked with toddlers for a long time they freaking love that stuff. Not to mention excellent for muscle growth and balance
