After my posts concerning tipping the executioner and other bits of interesting trivia, I received an email.

Why the interest in punishment?

With my face aglow at the chance to share some of my new knowledge, I earnestly wrote back explaining what had prompted my interest (reading about King Henry VIII).

The response came back: Well, have you ever been punished?

Sigh. Got me again.
