What does it mean when someone follows you on here?

As in is there a difference in being a friend or a follower? As a follower do you get notifications of when the person has posted something?

A "follower" is somebody who has added you to their "circle" (i.e., friended you).

If you follow them back (add them to your circle), then you become "friends."

You can limit the main feed to just people that you follow.

I think it is mostly about the person you are following just doesn't follow you back so you are in a sort of limbo thay let's you remain aware of them even so
