.....this is a double standard......

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/family-offers-%E2%80%98sincere-apologies%E2%80%99-for-11-year-old-girl%E2%80%99s-false-hijab-cutting-story/ar-AAuPMrs?li=AAadgLE&ocid=spartanntp if this story had happened to any other race/religious group in Canada we would be charged within the fullest extent of the law but because they are muslim and the girl is 11 the family and here gets off with spreading lies.....let me explain. It is BECAUSE of people making shit up like this that they passed a anti islamophobia law that basically tramples free speech its because of people who LIE like this (I believe she was put up to it for the record) that we have legit distrust towards people and the few make the majority look bad. I know locally they have been telling people to cover up refused to shop at a hardware store because there was a female supervisor etc......when is enough enough? people HAVE to be held accountable the same as everyone else and be made a example of so that there is no special treatment but oh wait that isn't how human rights works human rights bubbles wraps people and tells them its ok....you are a minority you get special rights so behave like a piece of shit and get rewarded....
I agree that the girl needs to be held accountable, but she's only 11, so I'm not sure what that would entail. Kids sometimes make up stories and they have to understand that this can have real consequences for other people.

The fact that it is a Muslim family is unfortunate because this incident will now be used to cast doubt whenever a Muslim complains about a real hate crime.

You mentioned an "anti-Islamophobia" law - you mean there is a specific law giving protection to Muslims that does not exist for other religions? I would completely oppose that. I don't think that would fly in the U.S. because the First Amendment here guarantees that no religion gets special treatment - what goes for one must go for all of them. I assumed you had something similar in Canada but maybe not.
