Insane. I grew up in LA and knew people who met him. I used to shop at the surplus store where the shootout happened.
The guy was driven insane by lack of recognition. Unfortunately he had no musical talent. Terry Melcher didn't get him a recording contract, so he killed everyone in the house Melcher used to live in.

@BurstMe95 He killed Shorty Shea, and several others. He wasn't present at the Tate-La Bianca murders but there were others.
