Why do so many here still talk about EP and that they miss it?

[c=#BF0080] This site has the same experiences, groups, same sort of layout. Same great people and of course, the same trolls and lame-os 😂[/c]
Your assessment is nowhere near a fair comparison of the two sites.

The old timers that built that site, that made it successful , and that paid to support it, came because it was a support site and they had something to contribute. There was a closeness and intimacy to them there is not here.

After the late 2012-2013 roll out a whole new group of people came and turned the place into a cesspool. They failed to grasp, and they did not care, what the site was about. EP was just a babysitter to them.

this is a social site, Not a support site. It wants to be that--but it is not. Coping the fonts, colours, and frame format does not make it EP.

And the old timers, the ones that made and defined EP, did NOT come here. A few of us did. But most left EP AFTER the abysmal 2013 roll out. The site was no longer their place. Some of us hung around...hoping.. It was false hope.

This place is MORE of a babysitter than EP was. Teens and 20 somethings that need babysat. EP had purpose, direction and benevolent intent- this place lacks all of that. It exists merely as a home for displaced EP members. And others who may join. It lacks the intent EP had.

The site is not original. It is a cheap imitation that lacks the intimacy and closeness EP could have. As well as the purpose.

There is a certain intangible there and a certain balancing act that needs addressed. You two understand it as you two know of that intangible. That certain "je ne sais quoi" that made EP a bit more special. it's there. It exists- And, being intangible, it is hard to capture.

And then there is the balancing act. And that involves the four that run the site. I do think they are good people-and I believe they do have the best intentions for SW at heart. I would never think otherwise. Bur trying to explain to them, without insulting what they have made, what EP meant to many -and for them to replicate it, is a bit of balance. If they were not there or there in the time period we are speaking of, they cannot understand. It is like asking one to remember a ride in Coney Island in the 1950's when they were born until the 1970's.

I know of Unjusted- and I do believe she will marry pagenpoet

@Elandra77
20 somethings that need babysat.
Not all of us, some of us do know how to act if anything half of the time it's much older people that act out.

It was a great place, I personally enjoyed my experience more on there as I made actual friends.

People were not this bad on ep.
I think they're basically insecure. Longing for the good old days that really weren't that good is a telltale sign of aging and low self esteem.
@OkayBye [c=#BF0080] Indeed and hey this site is EP 2.0 in my eyes[/c]
akindheart · 61-69, F
I had made lots of friends, and had a good circle. when the site went down, they scattered and I miss them. This place is a nice substitute but not the same
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
Because they like to live in the past, and why not? I've been doing that myself since I was 12, if not younger.
Lackwittyname · 51-55, M
Agreed, have never understood that either, things end, accept and move on
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
I think a lot of it are the friends. One minute we’re all chatting, answering questions, posting stories, then all of a sudden, it’s “bye bye EP”. It kind of was a surprise.

However, even though it’s been a week for me here in SW, I’m happy for the friends I’ve made. Maybe I’ll get together with my old ep gang. Making new friends are also great. But I agree, it is very similar. Tbh, I thought SW was the remake of EP LOL.
Bluesky53 · 61-69, M
EP was more personal,i had better luck on there,
Kumbayakid · 61-69, M

Persephone · 51-55, F
@TJNewton that's kind of sad (I don't mean pathetic) and bittersweet.
TJNewton · M
