Are people who have been through a lot usually nicer people?

Why would you say?
SW-User
Not always some become mean and spiteful at the world. Some take the tragedies and use them as fuel to try and change things. Some quietly fall apart. Of the last two they usually are nicer people, because they choose not to wound others just because they themselves have been wounded.

@SW-User It depends on the choices you make afterwards.

@Andrew19EightyFive It always does. :)

Generally speaking yes,provided the alot didnt devestate them. And why? Beacause theyre aware that whatever trifling crap they are in at whatever moment aint nothing compared to what they went through.that last part was me speaking... There are many nicer and less nice paths to that result

@lakergoy This came to mind: jumping on a trampoline and then getting off and trying to jump on the ground. Feels harder to jump.

@SW-User Not always guaranteed to make you a nicer person, it seems.

@Diyanne When you've been through a hard time, I think it helps you to empathise with others.
