I can't get any good quality replies! [Spirituality & Religion]

If I say we should value reason and pursue the possibility of continuation past death all I get is the expressed desire that we shouldn't differentiate between reliable and unreliable proof..... and here's some blurpity-blurp for you instead!

Yeah, thing is, in order to study that scientifically and get some hard evidence that can be proven is difficult.
The problem is that we are unable to kill someone and bring them back to life repeatedly in order to build up a body of data that can be studied and peer reviewed.

@Wraithorn Science is such that it doesn't even count as one possible investigation. It merely contributes to one of several.

@Nika2002 Fair enough and all of those several may be quite interesting food for thought. But I can't bring myself to believe something without evidence. Contemplating things with the imagination for example is grand and could lead to useful ideas. But without real proof the idea won't hold any weight with me.
My imagination tells me that the entire universe is a living being and we and everything else in this universe (space dust, planets,stars, mosquitoes, piles of dog turd, black holes, you, me, everything) are a part of the whole being.
I zero evidence though. Despite that, if I was charming and convincing enough, I could probably start a religion based on that belief without any real evidence. Oh, and somehow I would involve cat worship in that religion. I just haven't figured out how yet. 😸

@Wraithorn Evidence is essential. And argument is no less essential.

What constitutes reliable and non reliable proof in your estimation?
Nika2002 · 22-25, F
@hippyjoe1955 A good question. I'll let someone else answer.
You wouldn't get any reply like that from me. I would like to have a conversation with you about this, and, if this is the kind of thing you're interested in, I'm sure, other things.

@SW-User I'm struggling with the vagueness of your questions. If you're referring to the last thing discussed then reason takes into consideration four conjoint possibilities for causation and effect. If you mean 'reasonable proof' then we should want a deductive argument and testable evidence.

@LadyGrace

LadyGrace, I gave you your chance to whine about not being heard and to spread your foolish, unreasonable shit. There's no call to get all mouthy. And please stop betraying mankind.
