Prophesy Of Revelation 8

8 When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, 4 and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. 5 Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings,[a] flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

6 Now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.

7 The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.

8 The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood.[b] A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter.

12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened, and a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night.

13 Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!”

My ancestors tried to go to Jerusalem in 1884 because they were convinced the end was nigh and they wanted to 'be there and watch it happen'. The Ottoman Turks wouldn't let them in so they came to America instead. I don't get too excited about end times and end time prophecy. Jesus was, is and shall always be, in control. I put my faith in HIM.

@hippyjoe1955 Amen to that. But the book of revelation is for those who don't believe.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@GodSpeed63 Yeah I never had much success using it as a tool for evangelism. I know the 7th Day Adventists tend to focus on it but I don't. I prefer the Gospels and epistles of Paul Peter, James and John.

@hippyjoe1955 Amen, brother.
@GodSpeed63 No less an authority than Martin Luther believed that the Book of Revelation shouldn't be part of the Bible.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom Luther also considered James the 'Epistle of Straw'. I tend to agree with Luther on both counts. Not a big fan of either book.
@hippyjoe1955 James is the only epistle worth paying attention to. Most of the others are blather.

Luther was a constipated anti-semite who came up with the 95 Theses while squatting over a latrine for several days. I'm not a big fan of him in general.

@LeopoldBloom I would disagree with you. From my experience it is the socialist/social gospel hand book but that interpretation contradicts Jesus' teachings on so many points.
@hippyjoe1955 Jesus was a socialist. He would have a lot more in common with Bernie Sanders than with Roy Moore. But modern American fundamentalist Christianity has devolved into a degenerate arm of the Republican party. It's not even really a religion anymore; it's a political movement. But organized religion in general in the U.S. is devolving, with "none" as the fastest-growing answer to "what religion are you?"
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom So you socialists taught you. You and your teachers were wrong.
@hippyjoe1955 Actually, your teachers were wrong. Or if you didn't have any teachers, your personal interpretation is wrong.

But this is easily remedied. Jesus is free to join this conversation and clarify matters.

*crickets*

So we can only conclude that he doesn't care what label people apply to him.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom He did and you didn't learn from him. Judas was the socialist. Jesus was the realist. Judas said that the perfume could have been sold for a large sum of money and given to the poor. Jesus answered "The poor you will always have with you".
@hippyjoe1955 No, he didn't. And I didn't have any teachers; I read the book myself. It's very obvious that he was a socialist. He also told people to support the government. "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" in response to the question "should we pay taxes?"

Although, he lived 2000 years ago, so his views on modern society are meaningless.

I meant for him to come back now and clarify things, by the way - not "he was already here, read his book." Although, if Jesus were to come back could see what his followers were doing, he would never stop vomiting.

@LeopoldBloom Try Matthew 26
@hippyjoe1955 Yes, he was an arrogant, self-centered, entitled fuck, I'll definitely give him that.

You're right, if Jesus came back today, he'd be running a megachurch and flying around in his own private jet, with acolytes giving him blow jobs.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom You truly are clueless. Have a nice socialist flame out.
@hippyjoe1955 Make up your mind. You don't like that he's a socialist, but you don't like that he's a capitalist either. What was he, an anarchist? OK, if he came back, he'd be in the streets with antifa, beating up Nazis.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom Believe it or not life is not as binary as you seem to think. You need some life experience. Maybe if you put your big boy pants on and find a job...
@hippyjoe1955 LOL I'm 56 and other than maybe six months total here and there between jobs, have been working continuously since age 14 in various places in the U.S. and Africa.

News flash, Jesus isn't as important as you think he is. I was in Timbuktu on Christmas Day, 1988 and it was like Mohammed's birthday here. Just another day.

You need to gain some life experience yourself - you'll find out that the things that are so important to you are insignificant to other people.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom And you are still that clueless? Wow.
@hippyjoe1955 At least I'm more knowledgeable and experienced than you are.

But you're an arrogant prick with utter contempt for everyone else, so of course your limited experience is meaningful.

It's hilarious that you say "life isn't binary" because you have to be the most black and white thinker I've ever run into. It's not entirely your fault as that is a form of mental illness, so you may not have much control over it.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom Ha ha yeah sure you are. And here you are thinking life is binary. How sad is that. I suspect you never left the hills of old Kentucky.
@hippyjoe1955 And I suspect that you're a Russian troll. Your English is excellent, Boris - I'll be glad to put in a word with your supervisor that you deserve a raise.

You have to be a troll. An ultraconservative Christofascist "hippy" is a contradiction in terms.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom Good for you. Shows that you are a hilbilly that married your sister. lol lol lol lol
@hippyjoe1955 Very funny, coming from someone like you, who hails from an area where the family trees don't fork.

Your move, Ex-Lax.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom So your sister is hot in bed or is she like you completely devoid of ideas?
