God hates sin but never the sinner.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@GodSpeed63 God never even said homosexuality was a sin.

Leviticus 18:22 & Romans 1:24 - 27. Even though the word itself is not found in the Word of God, its description is and considered to be an abomination to the Lord.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@GodSpeed63 Leviticus contains the Mosaic Law, which is what you're referring to. Here's an interesting fun fact. "Abomination" and "sin" are two completely different words and concept in the original Hebrew text. And abomination was to be avoided because it threatened the purity of the Hebrew race, a persecuted people in exodus. This is the same text that prohibits mixing of textile, eating shellfish and condones stoning children. I'm going to take a wile stab and say you don't adhere to those admonitions.

Sin was an entirely different concept and had was never mentioned in relation to homosexual sex. And abomination was a prohibition; a sin was an offense against God.

And "considering" what the Bible means can in no way be compatible with taking it as the literal word of God.

Why not? He wrote it. Whether sin and abomination are two different words or not, doesn't matter. God hates them because they are not part of His character that He created in us from the very beginning. His Word can be taken literally because God can never lie like we can. It's not in His character to lie.

@GodSpeed63 I feel left out. God never spoke and explained his divine meaning of the Universe to me.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Graylight
I feel left out. God never spoke and explained his divine meaning of the Universe to me.
I was where you are now, feeling left out. Then I met Jesus through other brothers and invited Him into my heart and life. You can also invite Him into your heart and life if you give yourself half a chance.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@GodSpeed63 That may be true and I appreciate the invitation and don't mean to sound flippant, but Jesus still wouldn't have a single word to say on the topic of same-sex love.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Graylight
Jesus still wouldn't have a single word to say on the topic of same-sex love.
Yes, He would, but with love in His heart. He didn't create any of us to be that way. Homosexuality came as part of the plague of sin and not from God, who created us in His image and likeness.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@GodSpeed63 There is not one word in the Bible attributed to Jesus implying homosexuality is a sin.

To imply it on His behalf seems to smack of pride.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Graylight
There is not one word in the Bible attributed to Jesus implying homosexuality is a sin.
I already showed you two references in the Word of God that imply how The Trinity, Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit see that homosexuality is sin. All three in the Godhead are in full agreement with one another. Understand, there are not three gods but one God in three persons. God is family oriented.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@GodSpeed63 Nope. Too easy. Jesus never said a word.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Graylight He did say it in His Word, through men like Moses and Paul. Jesus loves working with His creation.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@GodSpeed63 Jesus Himself. God spoke through Moses (and yes, I'm putting assist the trinity for the moment). Where in the gospels would I read His words on the subject?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
What do you hope to gain by this conversation?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@GodSpeed63 At this point? Your admission that's Jesus - in the Bible - never said a word about homosexuality.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Graylight Not going to happen because it isn't true.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@GodSpeed63 Please, point to the verse in any of the gospels.
