Let me challenge u [Spirituality & Religion]

If youre religious, why are u? Really think about the reason. now, from the most unbiased perspective u can possibly take, do u honestly think that reason is realistic or rational?

The reason I am religious is because my relationship with god goes back very far. I get very specific answers to prayers. I saw the white light one time and saw visions and spoke to someone during a near death experience

@DeluxedEdition which part the angel story or other?

@Mguinm share everything

@DeluxedEdition There is so much to share and I'd be typing a book to cover it all, but I have witnessed some miraculous things. God has spoke to my heart saying a person is healed when the doctor's gave zero chance to live. Rare cancers, impossible things to cure. The angel story I was around 9 years old and I thought my family was going to die and I cried and prayed to God and a huge loving hand (bigger than a human hand) laid upon my shoulder to comfort me. After this I fell right to sleep in peace.

Why does it bother you so much?

I follow Jesus because I stood at a point in life where I had a choice.

I could have continued the drug abuse, the random women I don't remember, the nights I don't remember, the endless searching for something to help me deal with all my pain.

I could have chosen Jesus, the wild card. The one that people told me could help me not just mask my problems and simply survive, but truly transform me as a man, turn my life into something worth living.

I chose the wild card in hope of redemption and that I could escape the inevitable downward spiral I was on.

I continue to follow Jesus because my life, although bad things still happen, I have come to a point where I can cope with everything in a way I feel is much healthier than putting poison in my mind and body and that lets me really learn about the meaning of things.

My reasons are mostly anecdotal.

I agree, from a 100% objective point of view that this cannot be called "rational", but the thing is that we don't live in such a world where truth is subjected to 100% objectivity. Hell, even quantum physics places importance on 'the observer' in some cases.
