To religious folk: [Spirituality & Religion]

If god created everything to be perfect in his world... wouldn't that mean that he created each religion too? That possibly, they are all one in the same?

Sound so good but your first premise is off. God didn't create everything to be perfect according to most religions. Most of the major religions recognize that everything falls short of perfection except for God

I hear that.
religions are a by product of people choosing to live lives differently than originally created, people trying to live their in ways they felt was what God wanted, or their own God. Many religions were created for the sake of leading people, gaining power and wealth and controlling a population.
Gods creation started out perfect. It is no longer perfect.

@CoxswainOtter Interesting perspective. I am curious though, who is Christianity not available to? Who limits the availability?

I am largely influenced by contemplative Christianity and Buddhism, so religion is more inward. So I'd say the mystery of life has revealed itself in various times and places. I don't that's saying all paths are the same, but rather that they are not that different.

It seems to be only the fundamentalist who sees otherwise. Contemplatives seem to always find common ground. Especially between Christians and Buddhists. I have always found the fundamentalist position strange. God is unknowable and mysterious and omnipresent-- but nope, no sir, God certainly didn't show bimself over there...

Buddhists would agree with you, at least. Doubt you'll find much agreement elsewhere in the religious world.

@CoxswainOtter Oh yes, many religions are quite rife with hypocrisy. Unfortunately the nature of the beast we call humanity.

@CoxswainOtter Indeed. Many don't like that. They'd rather ignore the contradictions and live in a self-reassuring fantasy land.

If this world is perfect, then what is it that everyone is looking forward to in afterlife?
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@CoxswainOtter Oh, I just always thought it was peculiar when some people would say this world was perfectly created, for the obvious contradictions that it offers up.

Religions are created unequal and imperfect because they are created by humans not gods.

@RippinKlouds the tibetan word for buddhist is "nangpa" which litterally means "insider". the connotation is less insiders to a club, but rather people work work "on the inside".

there are members of the abrahamic religions that work like that.

Your logic has no power here 😂
