Why do people believe that God is a fairy tale, but they believe in Dinosaurs ? [Spirituality & Religion]

You mean to tell me that you do not believe in anything found in Jesus tomb. His pictures. His gravesite. His teachings. His words. His family bloodline. And his legacy. These things are very real and they are right there in Israel for all the world to see. Yes, the Jews, and the Jesuits know the real truth about this world. And many of you have been deceived. Why would you think people would make up stuff about such a serious issue. Jesus is the Son Of God. People witnessed his life. What do you think ?

You must be joking
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Doomflower I know because when I am around those people they listen to me. And they say this man Zonus knows a lot about the soceity. Yes, real men. Not the fakes. ☺
Doomflower · 36-40, M
@Zonuss have fun in your weird little club. I will be living on earth being a normal person with no special knowledge.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Doomflower No, they look at people like you and say this. They don't know whats going on. They just go on in their daily lives like nothings happened. ☺

I do find it funny/ironic many believe in aliens, ghosts, etc... but refuse to believe in a God.
I'm going to go out on a limb here. People turn from religion primarily because of what goes on in these brick and mortar buildings called churches. It's said that the church is the body of Christ. People don't feel that. And they won't in most such places.
The Bible is not even the problem but mistranslation & misunderstanding of it. Jesus's actual words take up very little and I honestly stick mostly to what it says Jesus said. When you start getting into what Mark, Luke, Matthew and Paul (who converted to early Christianity after Jesus's death) think of his teachings, it's kinda like a political commentary and I just want Jesus's thoughts. I can add my own spin. The early Christian church still has many equal texts (verified in authenticity) that were not even included in the Bible when it was composed because they wanted to remove the spin they didn't like. So I'd rather have no opinion/spin at all. To add to that many churches add dogma to it based on their understanding that are not even in it. @Doomflower Sorry so long but it makes me sad so many people have such a bad view of Christianity due to dogma.
Doomflower · 36-40, M
Verified in authenticity how? What is authentic to you?

Nobody wrote about anything Jesus said until decades after his death and they wrote it in languages that are so different from modern versions they are basically different languages.

Christianity even without dogma requires you to believe in several things we have never, ever been observed or documented by anyone let alone those who were present at the time so why be Christian at all?
Just to be from the same time period as the texts included in the traditional bible. That's about all you can verify for exactly the reasons you stated above. Also the Bible I read is not the King James which is beautifully written but a terrible mistranslation of tons of verses. I personally have used a translation that is very difficult to read because the sentence structure from the original languages is so different from English but it keeps the meaning accurate at least as far as the original texts that it had been translated from. This is hugely important as concepts like hell (from Dante's inferno) did not exist either in the Old Testament or the New Testament. These words were changed for the King James translation and since have been used by religions to create fear of a God who punishes for eternity.
Your last question was why be Christian and that is for myself. I have found personal truth in the unverifiable words presented in the books of Christianity that help me make sense of the world and find my own peace in it. I have no desire to change anybody else's thinking though. My wife is a full fledged atheist and we never argue about religion as we both respect each other's viewpoint. I mean, hell, we both could be completely wrong.
@Doomflower
Many believe in God, but don't want to be held responsible for their sins, which btw, we all have....so they don't make a commitment. Belief, alone, does not make one a follower of Christ.
No. Some honestly don't. I find comfort in my beliefs but I am careful to not judge another's path. @LadyGrace
@ShadowedWhispers You are correct. Some don't. I just didn't make myself clear enough. What I meant was, is there are those who actually know there's a God, but don't want to admit it.
Much clearer and I agree. 🍀❤️🍀@LadyGrace

@Sarahcantstop Yes. The Catholic Church, The Rosicrucians, and other secret society people have his picture and other things that have been hidden from the public. Like the book that told us all that Jesus was a man of color. ☺

@Sarahcantstop No. There are pictures of people from the Bible that have been hidden from you by the Catholic Church. And they arent the only ones who havent told you a lot about this world. Its funny when people think that (government) controlled television, schools, and books will give you the truth. You are way off dear. I have seen some of the (hidden). You are not even close to knowing what this world is really about. ☺

No one can prove one way or the other. So we will wait and see but I've always taken the approach that if I believe and I'm wrong, so what, I've harmed no one. And if I don't believe and I'm wrong I'm doomed.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@katielass Well my friend. You are in for a big surprise. ☺
katielass · F
@Zonuss I don't think I'm the one who will be surprised.

It's human nature to rebel against God, especially when encouraged to by someone that want's to corrupt. A gigantic reptile beast that can stomp or chew up a human like a tiny chocolate chip symbolizes how they would like to deal with others they dislike. It's a temptation to wish such animals could exist, and the ultimate corruption.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SteelHands Deep. But you are gonna have a very hard time convincing me that a bunch of oversized animals just all of a sudden disappeared from this world because they were hit by a falling star. Its not even with the laws of nature. It makes no sense to me, zero. ☺
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@Zonuss I guess. Something like that would involve a huge dust cloud that would cool down the planet about 15 degrees avg. Maybe even knock the planets axis to one side too.

The dust clouds would have buried everything so deep you'd need hydronic mining equipment just to find the himalayas.
taintedprincess · 46-50, F
Jesus is stupid. Real or not who cares? Also there is proof of dinosaurs.
taintedprincess · 46-50, F
@Zonuss lmao. They didn't disappear into thin air.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@taintedprincess Oh that story about a star falling from the sky and all the dinosaurs are just gone. Wow. All the other animals were saved. Really. LOL !!!😆
taintedprincess · 46-50, F
@Zonuss no, you are an idiot. The dinosaurs starved to death because they required such large amounts of food that they did not have due to the ice age.
I think the same as above.

Also if an individual wants to believe in a God then I suppose their is one for them and its not up for question.
