Not at all, but I'm not. My grandmother on my father's side was, and my father was. I'm multigenerational on my mother's side, but as soon as someone passes the test and takes the oath, they are an American citizen, and no better or worse than any of the descendants of early settlers.
馃 if I was an immigrant I wouldn't find it insulting. I don't see how it's an insult... It just means a person who comes to live from a foreign country. It's more of the truth than an insult.

Immigrant is not an insulting word.... only recent reaction and the way some use it, makes it sound insulting.... the insulting is them, not you.

Depends on how it was used. Excluding the Native Americans, we are all immigrants in the continual US.
