One is a form of separation of Church and State which eliminates religion from the marketplace and tries to atrophy it by not permitting it to exist anywhere outside the sacred precincts. The anti-religious bias of leftism rests, however, not solely on anti clericalism, anti-ecclesiasticism, and the antagonism against the existence of another body, another organization within the boundaries of the State: It gets its impetus not only from jealousy but, above all, from the rejection of the idea of a supernatural, a spiritual order. Here again two wishes of the leftist find their fulfillment, the extension of government and the dependence of the person upon the state which controls his destiny from the cradle to the grave......

Naturally, we must add that in the practical order of things there are exceptions to the rule because leftism is a disease that does not necessarily spread as a coherent, systematic ideology..... [b]P.S.[/b] – [i]“Liberalism”[/i] should be distinguished from [i]“Leftism” [/i]although they both arose from the same so-called Enlightenment stew (except the authentic liberalism of the true Right, whose antecedents are much older and deeper). Anglo and American liberalism, at least initially, was sparred the bloody stain of the French Revolution. However, as [b]Kuehnelt-Leddihn[/b] says [i]“The American War of Independence had an undeniable influence on the French Revolution and the latter, in the course of the years, had a deplorable impact on America...In the same camp with socialism, fascism is that particularly vague leftism which in the United States is known perversely enough as liberalism.”[/i] Leftism has also, to a greater or lesser extent, infected [i]“liberalism”[/i] in other countries -- including the UK – to the extent the [i]"liberal"[/i] label is still used politically.
[b]P.P.S[/b] – when in the above [b]P.S.[/b] I referred to the [i]“authentic liberalism of the true Right”[/i] I was referring to the concept of liberty and freedom with which the word [i]“liberalism”[/i] was first associated. The first use of the actual term [i]“liberal”[/i] (obviously from the root word for [i]“liberty"[/i]) was in 1812 in Spain -- it was used in reference to a political movement opposed to Napoleon's Jacobin project. But it meant something different than when it came to be a label for the radical wing of the Whigs; and from Prince Metternich's reactionary restructuring of Europe after the defeat of General Bonaparte. A sense of this meaning of [i]“liberalism”[/i] can be seen in the old [b]European Catholic Right[/b]. For example:

That is why in the 1930's, during the Spanish Civil War, anarchist parties allied with the very traditionalist Catholic Carlists.
The left believes in collective liberty which is a fantasy. Liberty is about individual liberty, it will always be about the individual. Everything the left believes in today is about destroying individualism and promoting group thought. They have become the new fascists feeding off their own propaganda like parasites.
Economic and social regimentation of the left: Common Core, Massive EPA regulations by the dictatorial fiat orders of a Marxist ideologue, President Obama. Anybody who disagrees with the climate change cult, ostracize and maybe possibly jail them. If a state does not want to implement Common core, defund them of federal dollars.
Teach the climate change cult as the new religion in schools and shut down any debate on it. Shut down American business using the climate change cult as the primary weapon in destroying all of our power grids while the rest of the world goes about its business.

Post some real news articles and sources that tell that 98% or so of the worlds scientists believe man is having an effect on our climate. I trust them over climatedepot.com and waatsupwiththat.com. Liberals want everyone to have the same freedoms and opportunities? Really? Would that be why on just about every college campus they are resorting to violence to prevent others from exercising their first amendment right to speak? I've just thrown the truth in your face, will you see it or continue to live in denial?
I would say this but the whole thing is a zero nuance zone and calling Hitler a leftist fits in pretty well. There are enough straw men in the synopsis alone to keep the crows off a dozen fields.
There are of course huge differences on what is called the left. This is both a blessing and a curse.
