Prisons are a terrible idea and If it were my kid being effected by the opoid crisis

and I saw what the prisons do I'd be even more radically in support of the -exact- same kind of politcs I practice now, only even more radically.

I know i'm right, so having kids or knowing people effected by the Fentanyl problem wouldn't change a god damn thing.
For some reason prisons and police are the one area left where you are considered a weirdo if you don't pretend nothing has changed since the 1700s.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow The thing that drove me to this conclusion was simply the experience of spending a few minutes inside the system. My father was an Engineer and I spend a lot of time thinking about critical faults in technology and the same skillset is obvious for society wide problems and it can make what's wrong with the system something that takes all of 3 seconds to figure out for me, and believe me my judgement is NOT invalid, it's not "weirdo" and it's not even suspect because I was a Criminal at the time. I'm not up to what got me in there in the first place and haven't been in TEN YEARS but one thing that HASN'T changed is the realization that I spent most of my time in there talking with some kids and just socializing with the rest of the inmates and honestly when I got out one of the white kids that was in there with me was 2 doors down litterally and it would have been very easy to befriend the guy and go out and commit a whole new series of offenses.

First offense and it very much so could have set me up for a life of crime.

the charges were ultimately dropped and I at least intuitively realzied that the nation thrives on white collar crime so you can get away with copyright infringement etc but DARE assault anyone and too much heat will be generated.

and thus when I tell you that the prisons are crimogenic I have an insiders perspective on the problem at this point. I've had my issues with the law- they're in the past and I've learned to at least not get caught for anything I do.

but the bottom line is that the rest of you think your wrap sheets and records are such great ideas and what I see is that a wrap sheet is a resume to the black market.

and that once you're inside the system you just network. the system is fatally flawed.

let me explain: let's just take ALL the criminals in a society and concentrate them in one central facility where they can get to know each other , talk to each other, socially network in prison and I can tell them about all I know about the law which in essence is everyone tells the same story and keeps their mouth shut and we all go home happy.

My family just lets it fall that way. Sometimes people lose, the winners are very gratified by the losses of others.
