They won't accept it as long as Trump keeps screaming fraud. This denial by his faithful flock will continue for at least 4 years. The worst thing about it all is that they really believe he gives a shit about them.

@SW-User just like y’all denied Trump his presidency for four years! Why not?
@Ambroseguy80 As Trump did Obama for eight, you mean ? Trump tried to deny him his very citizenship. 🙁
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard 😱😱😱

I don’t even recall that. But at least the media was on Obama’s side....
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Ambroseguy80 Birthers, Trump bring one of the loudest, if I recall correctly
@Ambroseguy80 Are you kidding me ? Trump demanded Obama produce his birth certificate and college transcripts because he couldn’t believe Obama was
A. Born in the U.S.
B. A Harvard graduate
Some of the media was on Obama’s side because it was an obviously racist demand. Other media, like Fox, of course, didn’t care if it was. None of it stopped Trump and his supporters from persisting with demands. No other president has been asked that.
Incidentally, Trump didn’t learn his lesson, pulling that same racist “birther” bullsh*t on Harris.
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard no. I’m not kidding you. I vaguely remember the issue being raised - but in what capacity did Trump demand this? It was my understanding that Trump was not a political insider back then? Also I think it’s a stretch to say this was racially motivated. Didn’t Barack have roots between Hawaii and somewhere else in the Pacific? I can’t say I’m in the know on all this.

You know I like you but I'm getting really tired of the Trump supporters on here painting everyone with the same brush. I never denied his presidency Ambroseguy. Try to find a post on this site where I did. I will freely admit that I do think he's a lying sack of shit who I've called the P.T. Barnum of our day. I know how he operates. I grew up in NY listening to the man promote himself ad nauseum. I worked for a company that built a project for him only to have him file for bankruptcy on it. He put a few small family owned contractors out of business. He's a piece of shit. He's a piece of shit. He's a piece of shit who ONLY cares about himself and promoting his own agenda.

You have a very selective memory. Trump was very much in the news claiming Obama wasn't a U.S. citizen at every opportunity he could find. He was the guy at the forefront of the birther movement and continued to yell the loudest about it. He loves the cameras and publicity. He had been talking about running for President for a while. Just because you didn't bother to notice it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Here's just one example

At this point, he's systematically doing everything he can to undermine this country and create further divisiveness before he leaves office. He's a spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum. He's now removing protection for the nation's birds. Can he be any more petty?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/trump-administration-moves-ahead-on-gutting-bird-protections/ar-BB1bqAnH?ocid=msedgntp
The Trump administration moved forward Friday on gutting a longstanding federal protection for the nation’s birds, over objections from former federal officials and many scientists that billions more birds will likely perish as a result.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service published its take on the proposed rollback in the Federal Register. It’s a final step that means the change — greatly limiting federal authority to prosecute industries for practices that kill migratory birds — could be made official within 30 days.

The wildlife service acknowledged in its findings that the rollback would have a “negative” effect on the many bird species covered by the 1918 Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which range from hawks and eagles to seabirds, storks, songbirds and sparrows.

The move scales back federal prosecution authority for the deadly threats migratory birds face from industry — from electrocution on power lines, to wind turbines that knock them from the air and oil field waste pits where landing birds perish in toxic water.

Industry operations kill an estimated 450 million to 1.1 billion birds annually, out of roughly 7 billion birds in North America, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and recent studies.

The Trump administration maintains that the Act should apply only to birds killed or harmed intentionally, and is putting that “clarifying” change into regulation. The change would “improve consistency and efficiency in enforcement,” the Fish and Wildlife Service said.

The administration has continued to push the migratory bird regulation even after a federal judge in New York in August rejected the administration’s legal rationale.

Two days after news organizations announced President Trump’s defeat by Democrat Joe Biden, federal officials advanced the bird treaty changes to the White House, one of the final steps before adoption.

Trump was “in a frenzy to finalize his bird-killer policy,” David Yarnold, president of the National Audubon Society, said in a statement Friday. “Reinstating this 100-year-old bedrock law must be a top conservation priority for the Biden-Harris Administration” and Congress.

Steve Holmer with the American Bird Conservancy said the change would accelerate bird population declines that have swept North America since the 1970s.

How the 1918 treaty gets enforced has sweeping ramifications for the construction of commercial buildings, electric transmission systems and other infrastructure, said Rachel Jones, vice president of the National Association of Manufacturers.

Jones said the changes under Trump would be needed to make sure the bird law wasn’t used in an “abusive way.” That’s a longstanding complaint from industry lawyers despite federal officials’ contention that they bring criminal charges only rarely.

It’s part of a flurry of last-minute changes under the outgoing administration benefiting industry. Others would expand Arctic drilling, favor development over habitat protections for imperiled species and potentially hamstring future regulation of environmental and public health threats, among other rollbacks. As I said earlier, he's a piece of shit.
@Ambroseguy80 I still don’t think you get it. Donald Trump has been a celebrity for decades, as much a fixture in the media as any politician and he harassed Obama every bit as much as you seem to think we have him (you did say “y’all”, right ?) And he had much more money and influence as a private citizen making these demands.

Now Trump’s just been getting a taste of his own medicine, richly deserved.
Yes, the “birther” issue was racially motivated. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, to a white American mother and a black Kenyan father. The “birthers” decided Obama wasn’t eligible to be president, because they claimed he was born in Africa. Trump led the charge.

Btw, Trump’s mother was born in Scotland, but no one questioned his eligibility or demanded a birth certificate. John McCain was born in Panama, no one questioned his eligibility. Trump even left Ted Cruz (born in Canada) mostly alone. But he has been going after Kamala Harris with those same accusations.

If you weren’t aware, it’s because you either didn’t want to be, or you agreed with Trump then, too. Because the ongoing story received every bit as much press coverage as anything else being reported at the time.

Cool your jets, bijoux. I like you too. When I said “y’all”, I was referring to the Democrats and the media in general. Not about any individual posters here at SW. If you read Harry’s initial comment, it was about political groups in general, not individual posters. You’ve chosen to go back a really long time in history (8-12 years ago). I was only going back four to when Trump was first elected. I admit I don’t recall the issues and the players back that far. But it has been well-documented that the Dems and media have immediately resisted his actions as President. That’s what I was referring to, and that’s what I think the Dems are going to get should things go forward as they are.
@Ambroseguy80 I think you’re getting Harry’s and my posts confused. Obama was Trump’s predecessor and obsession, based upon how often Trump still feels the need to mention his name. Much of what Trump has done has been to reverse Obama-era statutes and guidelines, for no other reason than that they were established during the Obama administration. There was even a guidebook that could’ve helped Trump manage this pandemic. But he and McConnell lied and said it didn’t exist.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/obama-team-left-pandemic-playbook-for-trump-administration-officials-confirm

Why wouldn’t the Democrats push back on Trump destroying our healthcare and putting people’s lives in danger simply because he dislikes his predecessor ?
How petty is that ?

I’m not getting confused at all. I initially responded to Harry above as to the fact that Trump’s supporters would not be the first group to be in denial for four years. She chose not to respond, but you did. We will see how everything shakes out in the coming weeks. No sense in getting all riled up. ✌🏻
@Ambroseguy80 Except that we (most of us) weren’t in denial about him being president. We just didn’t like what he said he was planning to do as president. Moreover, Hillary wasn’t in denial. She conceded, as have the most recent one-term presidents, Carter and Bush Sr. who both let the transition go forward. Even Gore knew when to let go without calling names and trying to incite civil unrest.Trump is the first sitting president to behave this disgracefully. Even non-Trump GOP are embarrassed.

@bijouxbroussard Yep. False equivalence. Nobody was in denial that Trump won in '16. We just found it odious. Thank God that shit's ending! 🍻👍

I responded when I was able to. It's a holiday weekend and, surprise, I've been busy. You're still confusing my responses with Bijouxbroussard's.

How everything shakes out in the coming weeks is the same issue we've been having with him his entire life, not just the past four years. He's a liar. He makes shit up to further whatever current agenda he has, because that's how he's ALWAYS operated. And now, he's completely undermined our Democratic process. I've never been so angry with a President as I have been these past few weeks. No one has put our way of life in more danger since McCarthy. He knows there is no fraud but he'll keep yelling it because he knows his followers swallow whatever load he blows. And now, over the next 7 weeks or so, he will continue on this path of destruction creating as many obstacles & problems as he can before he leaves office. I'm not a Biden fan but I can't wait for him to be sworn in and that selfish prick is out of the WH.

I just saw that...reminds me of the old saying, “quit while you’re behind ?” If Trump keeps pushing this he may find he lost by an even broader margin than we thought. And he (Trump) will have been the one to prove it.

@bijouxbroussard We already knew this too. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/cyber-security-chief-trump-fired-rejects-election-meddling-claims-the-proof-is-in-the-ballots/ar-BB1brtuS?ocid=msedgntp

I don't know why his supporters are so rabidly protective of him. I can understand people getting behind a non-politician, someone who will cut through the Washington b.s. we keep getting shoveled down our throats by these career politicians but, this guy? This guy? He's worse than McConnell and Pelosi together. Their chronic defense of him just validates that old expression, "common sense isn't all that common." 🙄
