Here’s a photo of John Lewis leading a sit-in in the aftermath of the Pulse shooting. He was a man of strength and conscience until the very end. We need to keep doing the work he started, and one of the best ways to do that right now is to restore the Voting Rights Act.
John Lewis is a true American Hero. Gassed and beaten by white mobs during the Civil Rights Era, his was a voice of reason and compassion for all Americans, black and white, young and old. He is what leadership looks like, not the lies, hollow promises and buzzwords that we hear from the "president". John Lewis will be missed. Oh, he will be missed.
