But the good news is...wait, there is no good news.

In the latest sign that the coronavirus pandemic is far from under control, Sunday ushered in a global record for new infections, with more than 230,000 cases reported in a 24-hour period by the World Health Organization.

The biggest portion of those new infections were in the United States, where a staggering 1 in 100 people have now tested positive and individual states are in worse shape than some countries. If Florida was a nation, it would rank fourth globally for most new cases in a day.

And what's the betting you are going to get a whole bunch of the Trumpeters disagreeing and saying things like oh but this and oh but that.. All based on slanted interpretation of facts with a huge helping of ignorance thrown in..

The lengths they will go to to deny there's a problem is alarming!

Britain is also opening up too soon, doesn't have control of the virus and has a f+++ed economy.

@Burnley123 We already tried that here in California Today they just announced that they're shutting everything down again. This time though...they're not going to receive much unemployment money. We are screwed over here. Hundreds of thousands are on the verge of being homeless

@SW-User In Britain we have the furlough scheme, where the govt is paying 75% of private-sector wages. They are phasing it out in Sept and Oct though so there will be a huge unemployment and eviction crisis. Grapes of Wrath.

@Burnley123 I keep going back to Grapes of Wrath. Both with fear because - in a modern light - we're on the verge of experiencing a recurrence of those days and also because I often think of the fortitude and flexibility with which crisis has been met in the past.

A little less whining and self-centeredness and a little more adaptability and compassion would be nice right about now.

Don't worry. It'll be worse in October.

@Burnley123 If you can't laugh, you might as well lay down now.

No wait! I heard from the great one that things are going well.

Ya know...if he hadn't put a ban on gina, the whole country would be dead and dying.

Well I'd say we were due for a good human cull. So that can be good news in a way. Less people. Yay.
@Eternity Which of your loved ones are you ready to lose ?
I can’t spare anyone. 😞
