Do you really care if I’m a “liberal” or “conservative”?

I hope you don’t. If you do, that makes you weak.

For the record, I’m fairly centrist. I tend to be conservative from a financial and strength of government sense. I tend to be a bit liberal on social issues, though I struggle with transgender surgery.

Most importantly, I will openly debate anyone on any issue who approaches a topic with knowledge and logic.

For those of you that lick the boots of so-called liberal/progressive leaders or make excuses for the weak faux-conservatives that support Tide Pod, you are responsible for weakening of society.

There’s more of us than you think.

We’re growing tired of your nonsense and we aren’t going to take it much longer.

Im not a centrist but I like your attitude. Be reasonable where possible and question everything.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Burnley123 exactly. Take nothing at face value.

One of the most foolish things a person can ever say is "I'm centrist". Centrist is a completely meaningless description since centrist is a meaningless term.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@JoeyFoxx You labeled yourself as centrist. Do you not remember what you wrote? Socially liberal and fiscally conservative. The kind of person who is the most dangerous type in the world. A liberal who doesn't want to spend money. A conservative doesn't want to spend money but wants strong family to support all the individuals. A liberal may want to have no family in place but wants there to be financial support for the victims of liberal policy. A neo conservative/neo liberal like you wants there to be no family to keep the person from getting in to trouble but you also don't want to to help the victims of your liberal policy. Very dangerous.

@JoeyFoxx So the founding fathers of the USA were wrong because they didn't want to be British subjects any longer? They were not happy in their political structure and sought to correct the problem. I feel the same way. Must suck to be such a slave to the orthodoxy of your state.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 none of what you said makes sense.

I am fiscally conservative because I don’t believe that merely spending more money is going to solve problems.

I am socially liberal because I believe in science and learning.

Any label I give to myself is for the convenience of conversation with someone who hasn’t interacted with me.

Your obsession with labels, frankly, is the entire point of my post.

Thank you so much for providing an example.

No, because I do not believe very people many at all..fit in neat little boxes of views and beliefs.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Piper excellent point. Thanks Piper.
Nope...glad to hear some political common sense around here for once..

I'm pro LGBT, understand trans issues and generally believe in a secular society. I'm against nationalism.

On the other hand, I'm pro free market, against gun control and support limited government but within limitations that doesn't include pro hate laws (like States erasing gay marriage, I'm against that because it is crimes against humanity.) This is just my personal definition.

But I am for things like limiting corporations while focusing on smaller businesses, easing up on regulations for small businesses and decentralized internet. Alternative forms of currency.

But I would also like to see more businesses in America and not just around the world. China for instance shouldn't be the only one that can supply penicillin.

I don't know what all that makes me.
I don't mind or care, as long as you aren't trying to ridicule my beliefs or force me into yours. I used to like discussing things, but too many people replace thought with emotion now days.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@PrivateHell I welcome debate and honest discussion. :)

You can think or believe what you want,as long as it doesn't involve destruction of property or violence or intimidation of other people.

@Milesofsmiles if you need to label me, go for it. Not sure why that’s helpful.

Libertarian is barely a thing and there’s never been a libertarian candidate who was playing with a full deck.

I don't care. I always try to see the good in people.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Azlotto generally, so do I.

I’ve had some bad days though. :)
