Conservatives: Why do liberals always insult me? Also conservatives: Hey libtards!

That's not a conservative thing. It's a character flaw among all people who shout about politics. I've never understood that fully. I used to consume myself with politics and news and current events and such. I never remember getting upset with my opposing side in conversation. Not even once. But, I watch these people argue back and forth on a regular basis. Liberals and conservatives are equally guilty in regards to calling names, throwing people under the bus and character flaws or defects in general. They're no different. Both are full of people who don't want to learn, don't want to grow. They want to live their lives the same way they always have and don't see any need or room for improvement.

You all blame each other for the exact things you're guilty of yourselves. It doesn't get anywhere. I don't understand how people grow that way --- unwilling to listen (actively) and empathize with others' needs and views. Liberals claim to be the empathetic ones, but in all actuality, they're no different than the conservatives, behaviorally or emotionally.

The sides are equal in regards to flawed personalities and inflated egos.

The libtard label came in response to certain liberals acting like they had very low IQs by slandering anyone who disagreed with them -on every single point- in a hyper emotional fashion. And by gobsmacking hypocrisy.

And I say that as someone who has always been left of centre.

They helped Trump get in by representing and modelling behaviors seen by many people as worse and more hateful than anything said or done by Trump - often because it was directed at them personally, thus mobilising his base and alienating many swing voters

They couldn't see this because they were so self righteous they were defeaned by their own smug echo chambers

They further insulted and alienated people who voted for him, not seeming to see that abusing people doesn't win them over

The moral rightness of expressing their hatred towards Trump supporters was more important than working to ensure he didn't get in again.

The libtard word is completely offensive and inappropriate. I can’t beleive it’s not being denounced more than it has because it should be. I have a family member deemed deemed MR and im so sick of people using it as an insult.

Too many people think of politics as like a team sport, and then get all worked up about it. That goes for both conservatives and liberals. I'm sure I'm guilty of it myself at times too.
