What would Abraham Lincoln do?

A couple of quotes for people to consider.
“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

"A house divided against itself cannot stand."
Now Abe wasnt perfect. But I cant think of many Presidents who will be as often quoted 150 years after their time as he is.

Lincoln missed a wonderful opportunity. If he had let the south stay seceded (and used the resources wasted on the Civil War to help the slaves escape instead) we would be so much better off today.

@SmartKat Maybe putting resources into the underground rail road like Oskar Schindler famous for running the factory that saved 1,200 Jews from World War II concentration camps. Now the true story — both heroic and human — of Schindler List and his wife, Emilie, memorialized in an exhibit at Pellissippi State Community College.and the Movie produced by Steven Spielberg

@SmartKat Its possible. But Americas Greatness arose from a large diverse and complex nation united. China is the next nation with the same potential and the same goals.

@whowasthatmaskedman We don’t HAVE to be great in that way. There are plenty of peaceful, prosperous countries that might not be “great,” but the people are very happy. Why can’t we be one of them?

@SmartKat With Luck you may become another major player, rather than a superpower. But Money has become international. Power resides less and less in the "state" and more and more in money. Americans done seem to recognise that yet. And believe me, Trump is SO not in that league.
