Yesterday, Donald Trump retweeted this by Katie Hopkins and the Tory Party leadership contenders refused to condemn it:
You could call it dog-whistle racism but then the idea of a dog whistle is that it has a certain subtlety which appeals to your target audience whilst allowing plausible deniability. This is more like a klaxon.
Katie Hopkins is a well-known controversialist here who made her name being a love-to-hate character on the Apprentice and later became a newspaper columnist for the Sun. Her contributions include wishing migrants to be shot down by gunboats and that we need a 'final solution' from British Muslims. I fully believe that she is a performance BS artist like Milo and Ann Coulter, though her followers do take her seriously.
Since Trump's retweet, only Rory Stewert - the moderate no-hoper contender - has said that this was wrong. Jeremy Hunt has come out and said he 'agrees with the sentiment' though 'wouldn't have used the same words'. Others have refused to condemn it. A lot of these politicians are affluent centre-right establishment types and have never supported anything so explicitly racist before so what is going on?
I think its two things. Firstly, its the typical fealty that UK politicians show to American power. Britain is no longer an imperial super-power so the best it can do is be BFF to American and do everything America says so that we can feel we have a 'special relationship' with them. This attitude is particularly prevalent on the right of British politics though it did also (for obvious and awful reasons) include Tony Blair.
The second thing is that Hunt and others are vying to get in the final two of their party leadership contest. Boris Johnson is certain to get that far but there will be one other contender in the final two who will be voted leader by the Conservative Party membership. That said membership selectorate is very right-wing and the 'calculation' that Hunt is making is that if he can 'out populist' Boris, then he stands a chance.
What of standards though? 'Londonistan' evoked the idea that Muslim immigrants are taking over the capital city. There is also an attempt to link immigrants with a crime epidemic. Not only does this lack an evidence basis, but it heightens tensions around issues of race. The UK Conservative Party is heading in a nationalist-right direction.
That is really low but they could probably go lower and will. A racist can change but only if they have an awakening, there's a ex white supremacist who does that in Indiana, we need more of him and until we have more of what he's doing to deradicalize people, we'll always have those types around.... forever scare mongering.

In a country where Muslims are minorities, they always cries victims and accuse the majority, in order to cover up how non Muslims are being treated in Muslim majority country.
This have been happening to Hindus and Sikh women in Pakistan for generations.
During partition of Pakistan, there were 20 percent of Hindus there.Now there are less than 3 percent.The same thing happening to Hindu population in Bangladesh.
But in India, Muslim population are steadily increasing and now their population is about 300 million.Yet Indian Muslims constantly accuse Hindus of being intolerant.Indian liberal medias often accuse Hindus for the crimes that were committed by Muslims.

Afghanistan used to be a Hindu and Buddhist majority country.Now there are only Muslims because they committed genocide on those Dharmic followers for generations and they ensured only Muslims population grows.
Abrahmic Muslims and Christians hate Dharmic followers and Christian controlled western media's always supported Muslims when Muslims committed genocide on Hindus and other Dharmic followers for generations.Another reason they kept quiet is because those westerners don't want to anger Islam and lose their trillion dollars business deals with oil rich Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia etc. Now that Muslims have started to infest western countries. I know a lot of things about Islam and Christian west after I started to embrace my Hindu identity and learn the true history of India. I know how Muslims have been trying to destroy Hinduism in India for 1000 years and how Christians are trying to convert Hindus and other Dharmic followers for generations. By the way, have you ever seen a Hindu Jesus?.
They used this kind of tactics to lure and convert Hindus.
Here is another thing.During colonial rule, British encouraged Muslims to feel superior than Idol worshipping Hindus. So from Karmic perspective , the time have come for them to know Islam better.
I have mixed feelings on this. I think that the amount of deaths and assaults that are occurring in London is appalling and that something needs to be done about it over and above words of condemnation and blame-shifting.
Having said that, nobody needs a lecture from KH or Donny.

Power is what they all crave at a time when the populace in both America and the UK are sick to the back teeth of their posturing.
There's nothing much new in any of this, other than the fact that neither the Left in America nor here in England is counteracting this endless display of drivel and diatribe from factions of the Right all out to get media likes and the prospect of raising Sky and Breitbart voter/viewers blood pressure in the run-up to the next election.
London does have a problem at the moment. Quite why is open to debate and what, if anything, is being done to counter it isn't being publicized when perhaps it really should be.
But then, responding to some anonymous tweetster using Trump's physog as if it's from the ham himself is also a low-end-appeal-to-the-bubba's-of-this-world's idea of political fact.

@Burnley123As far as I am aware there is no connection to the current situation and any particular religion or race. These are not crimes committed on any ideological basis but are related to the control and supply of illegal substances and the so-called, “county lines” situation.
By the way, in the Brexit context Stewart is the extreme, not the moderate, candidate. And as for the Conservative Party membership being “very right-wing”, pots and kettles come to mind!

@SW-User They have different politics but I'm grouping them together by role they play. They are political actors who make money off the controversy and probably don't believe it all themselves. Their fans do though.
