Is it time to bring in a younger generation to the uk parliament with fresh ideas and eyes .

Is it time for a whole new parliament of younger people with fresh ideas and eyes to sort the Brexit problem after all its them its gonna effect in the long run .Its seems the older generation are acting like immature children all wanting their own way and I think its time for change .

Brexit has proven that there are way too many with vested interests in Parliament to be able to trust them with debating the bloody thing let alone find a consensus and negotiate a way out when it's clear none of the three main parties want to.

They made that clear when they all said they wanted to Remain before the referendum !

Not sure younger people is the answer either if i'm honest.
A generation brought up by Microsoft/Apple/Myspace and Facebook is hardly likely to be 'insightful' in terms of world politics; economics or social advancement.

But you're right. Something has to change. Otherwise this will set one generation off against another. And the people AREN'T the enemy !!

It's works the same way here in Australia. Older generation is holding on to some dysfunctional conservative ideas that have wrecked economy, security and wellbeing of everyone. Young ones are dynamic, have energy and zeal to work. Give them one term and see how it goes. The system is broken anyway. If anything, it would only get better.

@SW-User Agree with you that's what I think

I think that would be a refreshing change and I know some of the youth are actually proactive in politics so you’d find plenty of varied people who’d be willing to do it! We need culture in the government and we need fresh new ideas for the future and the old crows in parliament hardly represent me let alone those who are younger than me

They're all too busy trying to look after their own interests to work for the good of the nation.

@Hairkinkster I meant the current lot, but didn't make it clear....

@WelshLovely no I understood. I just fear the next generation will be the same self serving parasites as before. If we get to the EU elections maybe we should take this serious and get some people in who will iron out the problems of the EU and make it the best option that we stay and help perfect it from inside.

@Hairkinkster I think the younger generation have a way more social conscience than the current one.

A change is needed but also an agreement on which is the best way forward for the country they have spent too long bickering and trying to score points off each other we need a solution
I agree. Watching parliament honestly reminds me of primary school. It's so weird.

I doubt it would work
