News reporting about Israel.

Is there some kind of reporting ban in Israel ? Nobody ever seems to report on the horrific assaults on children. I'm in UK and the BBC never report on what is going on there.

@DavyPNW Countries are a relatively new concept. We seem to have all agreed on an international standard, called the United Nations. Through the UN, we get all the things we take for granted: how passports are recognized, borders, etc.

The UN will not recognize a Palestinian State, util the countries with veto power agree.

The Kurds want their own state, but that's not going to happen.
Remember the USS Liberty? LBJ wasn't going to disavow Israel even after that, and most administrations since have been strong Israel supporters.@Kenscoff

I recently sat with a child from the Gaza strip before she went back home. She said the Israel government destroyed her next door neighbor's house with a bomb and she cried as her house was almost going to collapse :/

Her best friend died and they promised to each other to escape and finally have a cow farm and be cowgirls together. It took her 6 months to just get a signature to leave. It is horrible what is going on, the supplies that were suddenly cut off from Gaza by NATO without being reported so that people know, the blockade so that people cannot live daily lives easily, Israel dumping toxic waste in Palestine's water (for no reason. That's just disrespect)

And then come a lack of action to these violations of human rights ._.
And fear of the word "antisemite" for saying we gotta stop Israel ASAP as Israel's body to leech off of XD
SW-User
@Esmaurelia defense is to resist an attack. Israel is not defending itself when it takes tanks and destroys homes and steals land ._.
That is the definition of an attack
Esmaurelia · 36-40, F
@SW-User So what is the country meant to do when it's been attacked from such places? Send flowers?
SW-User
@Esmaurelia they defended themselves in the past :v
Now they are massacring and stealing the land. That's not okay from EITHER side. If Gaza were doing this to Israel, I would not stand with it at all! To be fair, I have no loyalty to any side, but the side that is being transgressed upon and I'm sorry .-.
No amount of daisies and change the fact that the war is over and it is not a war anymore. Israel now just wants the land and is killing innocent families to take it ._.

Are you really denying that? Who ATTACKED Israel now? XD
They regularly send bombs to Palestine these days for NO REASON then the Palestinians return fire. They also shoot little kids who throw stones and shoot pregnant women .-.

You can't call that DEFENSE or say Israel is defending itself when it has THIS power. I'd call Israel on the defensive team is Palestine was shooting Israeli children and pregnant women and old ladies but that isn't happening v_v
They're all safe and enjoy parks and live life

The BBC likes nothing better than to report Israeli attacks on Palestinians, usually glossing over the fact that Hamas and Hezbollah would like to destroy Israel.

@MartinII Seems to me that there are people in this world who thrive on war and fighting. They will never ever be happy unless they are fighting and killing. In this, I mean both sides. Why can't both sides be peaceful. Same with wars and fighting all over the world. Militant terrorists to me are demented headcases. Why do they keep fighting ? Obviously forces will retaliate, I understand that. But why must the militant terrorists, the crackhead fuckwits always want to fight !!

In a war zone, people die. This includes children. I know what I'm going to say is harsh, but the responsibility for this, falls on both sides, and they both have their heels well dug in.

The reason why the family house was blown up? Because someone in that household, was a suicide bomber. Israel has a deterrence policy (that does not work), consisting of blowing up the house of anyone who committed a suicide bombing, or deadly attack.

That unleashes a nasty chain of events:

- The family is not allowed to get a permit to rebuild the house.

- The family is forced to join one or more slum.

- The kids grow up hating, seeing only one side of it, repeating the cycle.

- The PA pays the family something to help them sustain themselves.

- The Right wing Israeli groups, and their supporters in the US, advertise it as: the PA is paying suicide bombers, which is a gross subversion of what actually happened.

- The Islamists spread the word that Israel is randomly destroying homes, which is a gross subversion fo what actually happened.

In the meanwhile, in Western Europe, and the new fascist regimes of Eastern Europe, and in TrumpLand, refugees, Palestinians, etc, are all the same: freeloaders, who are out to invade and spread Islam.

As a humanity, we need to stop, think and do something, but I guess that's too much to ask.

Starting with the post that started this thread. I can assure you there's no shortage of coverage, certainly not from the BBC.

I would not advise Al Jazeera either. They have their own agenda, and they are two-faced.

@Northwest I am 64. When I was a teenager I met a lovely young Israeli couple going back to do their National Service. So for about 50 Years Israel has been fighting Palestine. Time they packed it in.
I'd say: Look at the nations that created the state of Israel. Look at the plight of the Palestinian people who IMO are and have been looked on as pariahs by Arab nations. The continuing cycle of violence is on both sides, and until both cease their hostile responses to each other, no change will occur. Why not much reporting? Agendas, IMO.
Northwest · M
@SW-User They have been fighting longer than that. At various times, the Israelis offered acceptable peace terms, that the corrupt Arab leaderships refused. I say Arab, because the Palestinians were not allowed to have their "national" identity, and were used as cannon fodder by all sides.

Arafat is the worse thing that happened to Palestinians. I don't rejoice in others' demise, but I had a couple of extra beers, when I learned Arafat had kicked the bucket.

Today, the problem is not Israel or the Palestinians, it's the Evangelicals, who want to hasten Armageddon, by emptying out the West Bank and giving it to the Orthodox Jews, to fulfill the prophecies of the Book of Revelation, and hasten the Second Coming of Christ.

If it sounds crazy, it's because it is, but yet, here we are. These people voted for Trump, not just to stop abortions, but because he promised them he would support this, and he is. Full steam ahead.

The Saudis are on board, specifically MBS. The latter thinks this is his shot at leading the Sunni world, by dominating Iran. Netanyahu does not give a shit, because he gets to re-create Judea and Samarea.

Kushner believes he can unveil this plan in a couple of months. It will flop big time.

In the meanwhile, and yet again, the Palestinians have no say.

Let me remind you, that during the last major Israeli assault on Gaza, the first order of business for Hamas, was to round up all the PLO activists, and mass murder of them, because they did not want the secular ideas of the new PLO, to invade their religiously controlled society.

Who is doing the assaulting and how do you know about it if no one reports on it.

@MasterLee it must be wonderful to live your life with rose-tinted glasses and read fairty stories. Pity you don't care about the truth.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@SW-User I see the truth. Might remove yours as it clouds your vision. Or do you prefer ignorance?
SW-User
@MasterLee Are you trying to be stupid or does it just come naturally ? If you only want fairy tales I wouldn't bother talking about grown up things like real life.

Freedom of the press has been changed into manipulation of the press.
I live in South Africa where Apartheid was abolished due to pressure from the "advanced" countries.
I think it is past time for the world's "advanced" countries to now put pressure on Israel to end it's version if Apartheid.

It's not happening though because governments are now terrified of being called anti-semitic.
You mean Hamas using children as suicide bombs - again?

@Kenscoff Jews and muslims work side by side in Israel - happily! You should go there for yourself, one day, and see. Hamas is the problem - nothing to do with territory either! Nor is it 'their patch'. Study your archaeology and stop spreading radical, muslim propaganda. It's people like you who would have our countries over-run by those radical muslims who want our women and children for sexual depravity. Most westerners who support this filth do so simply because they believe that in the future, they'll 'get a piece of the action' without being imprisoned!! Now I know just who you are!!@Kenscoff.

If Israel and Palestine cannot grow up and live in peace then they should build a bloody wall between them. It makes no sense to keep fighting.

You mean the plo yes?
SW-User
@eli1601 I think it is truly frightening that people will not accept the truth. They probably still think Israel is a holiday destination !! 😂😂
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@SW-User I bet you are a climate alarmist too. Tsk tsk.
SW-User
@MasterLee What has murdering Palestinians got to do with climate and why would I be a climate alarmist? I can see that you are going to be hard work !!
lorne13 · 61-69, M
seems that no one is allowed to mention what the Israeli military are doing
SW-User
@lorne13 In UK if you question Israel at all you are immediately branded an Antisemite!! UK politics really is that crazy over here.
Nayla · 51-55, F
have you checked Al Jazeera? Sometimes they cover more stuff
SW-User
@Nayla Thanks. Probably more trustworthy than the BBC.

@Soossie Women's rights in Iran are limited compared to the women in developed nations. The World Economic Forum’s 2017 Global Gender Gap Report ranked Iran 140 out of 144 countries for gender parity.

The Guidance Patrol, an undercover law enforcement squad also known as "Morality Police" (Persian: گشت ارشاد‎ Gašt-e Eršād) surveys women in public for dress code violations.
Women who do not wear a hijab or are deemed to be wearing 'bad hijab' by having some of their hair showing face punishments ranging from fines to imprisonment.

In the Iranian penal code of 1991, extramarital sex (zina) is punishable by stoning or slashing.

Laws in Iran forces gender equality to be practically non-existent. Women continue to face mistreatment, especially by law enforcement officers. An example of this would be the mass amount of violence against women during the 2009 Iranian presidential election, where many women were arrested for voting for Mir-Hossein Mousavi. One anonymous woman recollected what happened in prison, and said that one of the prison guards told her, “I will do something you will never forget. I'll make it so you never want to leave your house again, so any time you hear my name, you will tremble."
@helenS

Thank you for the extract.. I suggest that you experience it rather than providing me with a report which is prepared by those who have referred to old laws (40 years) and which are not enforced anymore..

Another thing that I forgot to mention is that Iranian women are equally paid to men on the same positions (what American celebrity ladies are fighting for nowadays)..

Theses are a few photos for your information.. please also see my comment below this one with a video..
