If you were in a VILE argument with someone politically who was being a jerk to you, but realized you were wrong halfway in, would you be...

strong enough to put away your ego and tell THEM "oh damn, I actually realized you were right"???

Yeah I think so. But first, I wouldn't be in a vile argument. I would be in a respectful, even if heated, debate.
If it was really that vile, I doubt I'd concede so simply.

I'd likely resort to more devious tactics to try to make my retreat less humiliating.

If course, that might make things worse, but vile arguments are vile and to be avoided for a reason.
@AgapeLove Absolutely. I'm just being honest. If I'm down in the mud already, things like what abouts, reductio ad absurdem, or distractions might come out of my mouth.

I'm not proud of it, and I'd like to think it's beneath me, but if its really that vile, well, I'm capable of it.

@AgapeLove Thanks. I really try to avoid vile arguments, and prefer to do so professionally.

I do, yeah. One time was really funny because he had worked himself up for an argument and when I agreed with him, he wanted to keep going but had nothing to argue on.
