Any children who are left behind in the US have already been ripped away from their parents at the border. Those separations aren't in [i]any[/i] way voluntary.
After that development, any choice the parents have was an inhumane one. Parents have two options: 1, remain separated from their children, or 2, give up their asylum claims and be deported.
It's the 4-year-old's version of why'd you make me hit you?
