One of the conservatives could retire but giving President Trump three appointments in four years seems a bit much and might be overkill already having a conservative generational majority in place. @akindheart
Yes!!!!

A happy face emoji? What is it about Judge Kavanaugh that makes you so happy?

@jackjjackson Thank you

I guess my biggest problem is that the whole Supreme court thing was meant to be this indepentent thing without political bias and that they can say NO to the other branches of government. It was meant to protect people's rights. Buy it's not. Maybe it used to be...but with time it's grown and changed a little.

I'd like to also argue that there is no complete seperation of powers...because for all that America is proud of its check and balance system of government there are conflicts of interest involved. As the court allows the scope of the government to grow...the courts power grows as well as one example.

And even though Supreme Court justices claim to be independent...it's a joke. Everybody knows who is the conservative ones or liberal ones...who are swing judges.
Lifetime appointments might help a judge to not fear for their job and to be independent...but if the judge is NOT...they can do alot of damage.

Judge Kavanaugh is going to tip the balance to the conservative side. Some of his opinions in the 1000s of documents that conservatives didn't want to give liberals time to read...are a bit alarming.

He seems to believe birth control pills are abortion drugs. Which is completly bogus information.

During the Bush admin. He pushed the idea that presidents should be immune from criminal investigation and civil suits...because presidents are too busy.

He is against abortion. And I just can't understand how pushing his religious view makes him a good judge. Obviously he doesn't care about the welfare of people and them having a right to choose about their body. Their was also a controversial case...his only case regarding abortion. And a higher court had to step in and overrule him...

There are apparently some other not so great descion he's made...but I stI'll need to read and research further.

His answers to questions seem like blah middle ground whitewashed answers. Or he sidesteps questions.

Who can trust him about civil rights and civil liberties?

All we know is the conservative side tried to bullrush him through the process.

Suspicious?

I think so.

All in all. Our philosophies are just different about things I guess

Sorry for any spelling mistakes...I wrote in a hurry...

The Chief Justice a conservative cast the deciding vote upholding the AFA. That鈥檚 a fact. What the liberals are spreading about Judge Kavanaugh is innuendo. He has stated the Roe v Wade is a PRECEDENT. A precedent is a court decision that is followed in subsequent court decisions on the same subject. @Scribbles
Scribbles36-40, F
@jackjjackson I know that as well.

But when he doesn't seem to know the difference between how birth control works and abortion...I just think he's not smart enough to be a supreme court judge or even potentially get near any court case involving reproductive rights

maybe all supreme court judge nominees should pass a bunch of knowledge based tests. And have a way of staying current on issues...for those that are currently serving. Idk
