I have a feeling it's going to get a whole lot worse. Trump seems more than willing to take the entire country down to save himself, which is kind of why some people have it in for him in the first place.

Yes, what Rudy was saying is that the decision of truth is up to Mueller, so it does not matter what Trump says, if one other person says something different, without any proof, Mueller can determine that the witness is being truthful and Trump is not. So Trump gets charged for lying with no proof.
