@RippinKlouds And what do you get labelled as?
SW-User
Black and white thinking because it's easier, but it's also wide of the mark. It's also cultural... You've used terms connected to the US (black and white) way if thinking. Other cultures will have other terms, maybe even more complex ways of thinking politically

@iMystery Yes, but some rebel, some wise up. Trump issued these stages - father a Klansman

@SW-User Sad... but hey, thank you so much for your input! 🙂

@iMystery Welcome

People who need labels love boxes.
iMystery · M
@hlpflwthat Perhaps true yes, but it just seems that everyone is simply ok with being labelled on or the other. Are they really THAT inflexible that they cannot make up their own minds with what they want to agree with or not, even if it does go against traditional Conservative or Liberal beliefs?
Is there really no "Third" type?

That's why there are so many registered independents. In the end you still have a label
thatscottishguy · 26-30, M
What is annoying is that these labels can be used to mean left vs right in the US when liberals can be very much right wing.
iMystery · M
@thatscottishguy Another interesting point you make.

I see it like this, you are more of one than you are the other and I'm perfectly fine being known by that label because it is an efficient way to let someone know who I am.
iMystery · M
@Jackaloftheazuresand So does that mean boxing people is into fixed groups, even though they may share a hint of something else, is more efficient?
If that is the case then why not simply label a man with a penis, who is more feminine than masculine a female as that would be more efficient to that person?

@iMystery An interesting point, I will think about this but you may be correct in principle.
iMystery · M
@Jackaloftheazuresand Thanks for being open to a new ideas. It says much about you 🙂

You do realize you sort of described a Libertarian?
I identify more as an Independent that leans Conservative/Libertarian now.
It matters most if when you do your taxes and check that box to give $1 to your political party more then anything else I think.

@OKWTF2 Please explain how exactly I described a libertarian if my post is more about not simply labeling someone based on one or two beliefs that person may have?
And you as an Independent, how do you feel when you get labelled Conserv/Lib based on maybe agreeing to simply one or two ideas of either party, instead of simply staying "Independent"?
