If there is any creature on the planet who would not want you to suffer over loving him, it is a dog who loves you. You have just made Bruno happy again. The most loving thing you can do for Bruno is be happy, because that is what our four-legged angels want for us.

Oh, dear...yes, I have had dogs and lost them...and it has never ever been easy. I think your notion of an angel in dog form is a good one, and does these amazing, sensitive, loving companions great credit.

It is precisely because of how amazing & loving & pure they are that our hurt is so much sharpened. Your grief does credit to the strength of your connection with Bruno, an expression of how meaningful he was to you.

I lost my cat friend Sonnyboy 10 years ago and I still miss him every day. I believe we will see our animal friends someday in heaven. They are waiting for us in a very happy place.

She is a beautiful dog. I’m not the best at advice but don’t do what I did and let it take over your life for 10 years. Let her love stay with you knowing that she loves you and wants you to let her go when she passes. It will only eat you from the inside out. I only wish I had come to that answer 10 years ago. But the pain will only get worse as time goes if you let that be your only thought. I want you to live a happy life. But while you still have some time left with Woofie let her know that you will always love her and tell her how much she means to you and how greatly she changed your life in many positive ways. I believe she will understand you because if you are about the same with her that I was with Bruno she will understand. I pray that you can accept her death when it happens which I hope it does not happen to you anytime soon.@Itsmrsockmonkey
