Why are people scared of bats?

In the summer pipistrelle bats fly around my garden just before darkness, feeding on midges.I love to watch them , they are special.

Well, they can bite and they carry rabies.

They pull your hair and bite your head, don't they give you rabbies or something too? 🤔
