my dog makes me laugh with something similar... i can be fast asleep and, all of a sudden, i'll feel these little paws walking up my torso.
As soon as i move my hand to fuss him, he freezes and ducks down. After a few moments, all is good in his world and he'll go and tuck himself back under the blanket for a few more hours.

@cherokeepatti When her brother pulled a tendon, the vet said he was "A GREAT cat!", because he could treat, and wrap, him without a struggle. No biting, no scratching. A little swatting and some crying, but very gentle and accepting overall.

One of my cats licks your mouth to wake you ... because he's hungry ...I think he knows that's where food goes.
