@Girlbehindthecurtain I've investigated "the death experience" for many years, and have learned there [b]IS[/b] no death, other than the death of the physical body. Consciousness survives physical death for animals as well as for humans. It's not a religious or philosophical thing, but something very pragmatic - scientifically proven. May you find consolation in knowing your beloved dog is still very much alive and free as a bird, enjoying life in the non-physical, ethereal realm, which, by every account I've encountered, is more real than the reality in which we're living. It's like waking up from a dream into our true reality. And, I know you're grieving the loss of having him or her nearby in the way you're accustomed to. Nothing wrong with that. Feel your feelings, but know it's hardly the end of his true life.
