@Emosaur So it wasn't because she is white and Jewish at all then; it's just because an African American was wanted. It's still discrimination but some discrimination is allowable and I believe performers count as an exception for authenticity reasons (in the UK, anyway).

@Emosaur Racism is a universal issue but I'm not sure the instance you have picked is the best example of it. I suspect this instance is a question of performance authenticity. Without knowing the full details about why a particular race is required to perform its hard to say.
