Help needed: My 5 year old grandson has a anger problem. Six days into kindergarten he stabbed his teacher with a scissors. WTF??? How do we deal wit

MikeSp · 56-60, M
Sounds like a parenting problem. By now, they should have taken him to specialists and tested for any physicals deficits, visited a child psychologist, etc. After ruling out all external possibilities, they should seek wise counsel on how to parent. If talk doesn't calm him, then the time-tested and effective tool of spanking will work. If they haven't started, then have someone show them how to do it properly. His behavior need to be corrected and modified, and he needs to learn there are consequences.

My friend took her kid to Taekwondo, they learn respect and discipline.

that's not an anger problem, that's a communication problem at least so long as your grandson wasn't born with a psychopathic brain

(Channeling my father...) Beat his ass then beat his parents ass, because if the kid had been receiving discipline and learning how to interact with others at home, he surely wouldn't have committed a felony before the age of 6.

The school I'm sure has disipinary action.Id take him to a therapist to get to bottom of this.In the meantime he should have every privledge taken from him,til he shows some control.

Do you think he knew what he was doing ? I mean, no chance this was an 'accident' ?

Has he shown anything like that before ? Specific violence toward a person or people ?

He needs psychological help. He's most likely running his own home with his outbreaks he needs to talk to someone he can't control.

Oh yikes. He is going to need an assistant at the least until he learns some coping mechanisms for his anger.

Bit more than anger, I must admit I would have him thrown out. Anger or trantrums ok if he's 5 but thats violence

@YukikoAmagi No...I don't know what it is. He has a loving family, but he throws temper tantrums all the time.
